One of my favourite movies of all time is "The Castle," which opens with "My name is Dale Kerrigan, and this is my story." Dale proceeds to narrate events that he was present for but had almost no active role in. Every ad or summary describes the plot as being about Dale's father. It's awesome.

When you shuffle a deck of cards and draw them, you don't draw any card twice until you draw all of the other cards or reset (reshuffle). If I set my music to play on shuffle, I don't want the same song to come up every second or third song.

I am 57 and some aspects of my life are really good, but despite my many privileges, I started a new minimum wage retail job last November. I really only started learning what was wrong with me in my late 40s and I am still developing my ability to manage any of it.

One of the worst things about streaming with ads is no humans appear to be in charge of placing the ad breaks. Even shows which originally had ad breaks, where there was an obvious break in the narrative for it, don't have the ad breaks put in those places now

One of the things that drove me to quit art school was my print-making instructor (ffs, print-making of all art forms) rejected my project pastiching an artist because I chose Maurice Sendak, who he said was "an illustrator, not an artist." He accepted Da Vinci as an alternative.
