A guest arrived at our door in pain, scared use an ambulance. Staff sat & called outreach workers. CHAT team with PDX Fire arrived, earned trust, & took them to a hospital. It turns out they had been hit by a car. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is show up, sit, and not give up.

If you’ve been tear-gassed by your own government, my office wants to hear from you. Chemical weapons that are banned on the battlefield have no place on the streets of Portland. Go to tinyurl.com/RestrictTearGas to see how you can help make Portlander safer & healthier. #RightToBreathe #Portland

This is why I have not cut testimony short in six months of being the Committee of the Whole chair. I cannot guarantee I'll never have to (some things coming through the committee have deadlines that can't move). But I will do everything I can not to. This is your house. You get your time here.

Thursday morning we’ll hear testimony about the Fair Share Tax, which would reduce small businesses’ tax burden by making sure large corporations with inflated CEO compensation pay their fair share. Learn more and sign up to testify below. www.portland.gov/council/docu...   #FairShare #Portland
“Support the Fair Share Tax proposal. Give testimony on Oct. 8.”“The Fair Share Tax ordinance will net $72 million annually. It cuts business taxes for 18,000 smaller Portland businesses. It raises the existing CEO surtax for about 400 large corporations based on how egregiously overpaid their CEOs are relative to their workers.”“A tale of two businesses. A neighborhood bakery with $300,000 in sales will pay $0 in Business License Tax. A mega-corporation with $100M in Portland sales and a CEO paid 1,800 times the median worker will pay about $1.1M.”“The Fair Share Tax proposal is supported by small businesses, labor unions, and experts, including CPPW, PROTEC17, Bold Coffee & Books, Thrive East PDX, Portland Businesses For All, Division Midway Alliance, 82nd Ave Business Association, Parkrose Coffee Shop, and more!”

I am so tired of this false media narrative about a divided council. In 2026 we have voted 395 times so far. 59 of those votes ended in a 6-6 tie. Only two of those tied votes got a mayoral tie break. The rest were budget amendments or the presidential election. Don't believe the media hype
