I see this constantly framed as a “people are so stupid” issue. But that’s not what I’m seeing in my community. Healthcare access and expense is making it difficult to see a doctor - a lack of regular checkups delays or causes vaccine doses to be missed. This isn’t a philosophical issue, but 1/4

My state’s gov workforce is officially hybrid (if possible) with each state agency or department being able to set their own specific requirements. It’s opened up state employment to me - a mom of 2 who doesn’t want to leave her community to live in the capital. I WFH and commute 1x/week.

This is a scam being run by Trump for his cronies. The coal industry knows there isn’t enough coal left to extract economically to “rebuild”. The idea is to pump a bunch of $$ into their pockets then dump the resulting financial mess on the American taxpayer. They’ll be richer; we’ll be poorer.

The Democrats have a choice. They can either embrace the demographic shift within their party and the push towards progressive politics. Or, they can watch the party crumble like GOP has (although not the same way).

One thing that irritates me to no end is the casual religion of the myth that Trump is a successful businessman. He’s not. And never has been by any reasonable measure. He’s a successful marketer of the Trump name. That’s it. Otherwise he’s a second-rate real estate mob boss.

The polar opposite reactions here to the deaths of Sam Neill and Lindsey Graham are such a reminder that we all have a choice whether to live our lives in a way that brings joy or misery to those around us. I think if you’re remembered fondly as Sam Neill is today, you’ve pretty much won at life.
