Found the email I sent when I got accidentally added to the faculty listserv of an orthopedic surgery clinic and nobody would remove me so I sent this email to all faculty/staff/med students and they removed me almost immediately
Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

A beautiful foggy morning, and a two mile run is feeling something like comfortable.
An arch of weeping willow branches over the sidewalk. The morning is foggy and if I knew the right way to do it, walking through that arch ought to lead to Faerie. Clearly I don’t know the right way to do it. Deep red hawthorn berries on the bough.Pale pink cyclamen growing up through the leaf litter from the hawthorn in the last picture.

I saw one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Dot the Kitten and Baby the Black Cat were playing tag. I’m not sure who was chasing who, but Dot ended up running under Baby’s belly and Baby who was also running full tilt ended up briefly high centered on the kitten as if she was riding her.
A one-eyed, vaguely Siamese looking kitten, Dot. She’s ready for mayhem.A one-eyed black house panther sitting on a sunny window sill. She’s trying to look dignified.

Check your voter registration at vote dot org. Have a plan on how to vote and how early. Mail-in states especially. This may be my first year finding a drop box in WA rather than mailing my ballot. A hearty 'fuck you with a cactus' to all involved in that.

CHAPTER

1

The magic in that country was so thick and tenacious that it settled over the land like chalk-dust and over floors and shelves like slightly sticky plaster-dust. (Housecleaners in that country earned unusually good wages.) If you lived in that country, you had to de-scale your kettle of its encrusta-tion of magic at least once a week, because if you didn't, you might find yourself pouring hissing snakes or pond slime into your teapot instead of water. (It didn't have to be anything scary or unpleasant, like snakes or slime, especially in a cheerful household magic tended to reflect the atmosphere of the place in which it found itself-but if you want a cup of tea, a cup of lavender-and-gold pansies or ivory thimbles is unsatisfactory. And while the pansies-put dry in a vase-would probably last a day, looking like ordinary pansies, be-fore they went greyish-dun and collapsed into magic dust, something like an ivory thimble would begin to smudge and

crumble as soon as you picked it up.) The best way to do it was to have a fairy as a member of your household, because she (it was usually a she) could lay a finger on the kettle just as it came to a boil (absentminded fairies could often be recognised by a pad of scar-tissue on the finger they favoured for kettle-cleaning) and murmur a
