What about the cost of NOT investing in public transports? Air quality, missed climate targets, traffic congestion - there’s more to public transport that ticket sales. It doesn’t make sense to treat it as an enterprise that needs to break even.

Was explaining exactly this to my aunt and uncle at a family wedding this weekend. They’ve been in the U.S. for 30 years and instead of renewing the green card again, they got their citizenship last year before they maybe couldn’t. Couldn’t fathom why rules here were shifting here. Men. Power.
