Most of us are blind to how much unnatural levels of browsing by grazers impact the landscape. Not only by shaving vast areas bare, but shaping what survives. On this young oak that somehow managed to 'get away', for eg, the browse line is clear. There's an omnipresent, invisible strimmer at work.

When it comes to future sea-level rise, Antarctica matters. Now researchers who looked at hundreds of thousands of potential emissions futures and the impact of each on the ice sheet found that Antarctica’s ice loss this century is locked in. theconversation.com/antarcticas-...

Antarctica’s ice loss is locked in, and extra snowfall won’t save it – that’s bad news for low-lying coastal areas elsewhere
The Antarctic ice sheet’s future depends how a chain of events plays out. A new study finds the evidence points in one direction.

This trend really annoys me. If I am already paying for a service, I don't want adverts too. Here's the deal: I watch for free but give you my time to watch your ads, or I pay a subscription or licence fee. Not both. Corporate rip-offs stop when we stop complying.
