Gisele Pelicot, Medical Misogyny and How Disabled People Face Increased Risk of Abuse
Most of us have heard Gisele's story. It's a reminder that even men you trust can harm you. Did you know that she went to her doctors for help? A look at how medical misogyny contributed to her abuse.

I wrote an article for WWFU that’s now live. I did my best to address what I believe is the most immediate and serious threat of causing real world harm, which is a current rise of nazi accelerationism, and how groups have begun to align under a common banner with a shared goal of mass-violence.

Of all the weird recurring motifs of the stories people tell me about the AI labor wars, the *weirdest* is when bosses demand to be reassured that their contractors and workers will *absolutely* use AI to get the job done.

That's a productive kind of worrying, with a chance of addressing your area of concern. It's infinitely more reasonable than locking yourself in the toilet with a flashlight and saying "Ayyyyy Eyyyyyye" into the mirror until you wet yourself.

It's fine to worry about this new suite of tools that give even stupider people the ability to trash even more computers. You *should* worry about that - and demand better security practices from firms and governments, including a blanket prohibition on NOBUS-style vulnerability hoarding.

"AI" - chatbots that wake up, "set their own goals," and "spontaneously" start hacking servers - is fake. It doesn't have "a 10% chance of ending the human race." The Hugging Face hack isn't a mysterious, supernatural occurrence.

Why the US Working Class is Different9 to

In 1828-as Karl Marx once reminded his readers a group of Philadelphia artisans organized the first 'Labor Party' in world history. One hundred and fifty years later, a television news camera depicted a group of modern Philadelphia workers arguing in their local tavern over the candidates in the 1980 presidential election. Against a back-ground of irreverent catcalls and hisses, one worker tepidly defended Carter as the 'lesser evil', while another, with even less ardour, tried to float the idea of a 'protest' vote for Reagan. Finally, with the nodding assent of most of the crowd, a rather definitive voice spelled out the name of the popular choice in the campaign: N-O-T-A, ('none of the above'). He underlined his point with the declaration that he intended to occupy a barstool rather than a polling booth on elec-tion day.

In no other capitalist country is mass political abstentionism as fully developed as in the United States, where a 'silent majority' of the work-ing class has sat out more than half the elections of the last century.¹ Arguably, this mute, atomized protest is the historical correlative of the striking absence of an independent political party of the proletariat in the country that once invented both the labor party and May Day.
