So a pop-philosophy pet peeve of mine has been that it sees Philosophy as merely an avenue for self-help. That if it isnt therapeutic, empowering, or produces wealth/prosperity than it is bad philosophy or con-artistry. But a lot of philosophy is about confronting ideas that may be true and bad.

I think growing up with dysphoria absolutely left permanent, horrible scarring on my psyche, perception of the self, and self-worth that I’m still healing. But I also don’t think I’d be nearly the person I am today without the perspective and empathy and curiosity it’s provided.
