Relatively successful dog walk - started badly with some enthusiastic rolling in shit, then she found a ball and had a swim (washed the shit off). Followed up by staring longingly at my pint. No beer for dogs - she’s not old enough.

Short but challenging #UnconfinedWalks today. Steep climbs down and back up on slate! Very worthwhile though and enjoying the atmospheric autumnal weather.
Three bridges of different ages stacked on top of each other. The lowest one is medieval and was built by either the devil or a monkey.Tree stump with three slate rocks on top and coins knocked in covering all the surface.Tall waterfall with multiple cascades falling through woodland.View of the sea with a line of dark cloud on the horizon.

Obviously I’m entirely made of Housing but a real good zoning reform we could make is re-legalizing corner stores on residential streets. Banned by the same 1957 code that banned ADUs, so maybe that’s next

Visiting folks I know who live in a car-centric major city and they are asTOUNDed to learn I WALK places. Despite knowing I live in a city built before cars. I am always SO ANNOYED when a basic errand *requires* I use a POV vehicle.

This is why I'm so in favor of accessory commercial units. Just getting people in the US used to **walking** for a cup of coffee or a sandwich in the neighborhood may finally do something to rid Americans of our terminal car brain.

Seattle's map of paid parking areas is actually wild. The blocks of the city outside downtown where the curb is actually priced are essentially microscopic.

The Phantom of Heilbronn, also referred to as the Woman Without a Face, was a presumed female serial killer whose existence was inferred from DNA evidence found at 40 crime scenes across Austria, France and Germany from 1993 to 2009.

In March 2009, investigators concluded that the supposed serial killer did not exist, and the DNA belonged to a woman who worked at a factory that made the cotton swabs used for collecting DNA samples

Took a (very) rainy walk through the Loop tonight. I was absolutely soaked, but my camera stayed dry enough.
The pavement in Chicago is wet from a day-long rain. Street and traffic lights reflect on the stored in vivid colors. In the foreground, a person with an umbrella is an out-of-focus silhouetteCalder's Flaming - an orange, abstract metal sculpture in Chicago stands in a wet, reflective plaza. The sculpture is reflected in the rain coating the plaza's stone pavers in the evening with buildings in the background

Today's walk: Lake Hope. The lake, usually clear, was still recovering from downpours and flooding from ten days ago. Bonus shot was a levitating leaf from the day before. #hiking #nature #ohio
