I keep reading that 'nobody should be forced to pay for the BBC'. Meanwhile, I'm forced to pay for the royal family, nuclear weapons, religiously-affiliated schools and the House of Lords.

The WHOLE POINT of the BBC is that it doesn't have to be like this. It isn't Netflix. It shouldn't be a slave to AI or algorithms. It our last bastion against all that stuff. Matt Brittin already looks like a catastrophic appointment.

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

I don't think we disdain the center-right enough. First, they rode nativist populist tigers to power to get their tax cuts and deregulation; Then, they lost control of their own parties to those tigers; Now, they sit in lucrative jobs as columnists writing about how it's all the left's fault.

Everything good we have as a nation gets attacked. National Trust, RNLI, BBC news (unfortunately they succumbed) even the National Lottery for supporting causes that trigger racist thugs. It's meant to destabilise our democracy, it's deliberate and its funding has highly dubious origins.

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

No. The big divide in Britain today is between the rich and the poor. Reform are on the side of the rich. Specifically, rich white English racists who hate the poor and the vulnerable and don’t think they deserve to have rights or public services or dignity.
The big divide in Britain today is between those who work and those who don't.
Reform are on the side of Brits who set their alarm clocks, get up early and go to work.

It's closely tied in richer countries to poverty, low wages, and stressful employment. There is such a close connection that the president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in Britain said that a child being overweight is a sign of child poverty.
Similarly, a population being overweight is a sign of government inaction, rather than an individual lack of discipline.
