A Tennessee appellate court has ruled that the killing of a woman may have been justifiable because she was trans. The court reversed a conviction, stating that the killer could have a new trial because the jury did not know the woman killed was trans. Trans panic in the modern era.

The Trump administration will start selecting lawyers for unaccompanied minors. Meaning the judges work for Donald Trump, the prosecutors work for Trump, and now the attorneys representing children will work for Trump. This is a rigged system that will result in more untold horrors for these kids.

This is the best overview I've read about the plague. Also, it brings up the thing to actually be scared of if you're in the US: measles. We're up to 1000 cases in Pennsylvania. If you've never been vaccinated, do it. If you have, check if you should get a booster. Protect yourself and others.

I love how The Atlantic exempts certain arguments from editors and fact checkers. "Boom for shop-class specialists" is, ahem, a stretch. Those fields are anemic except for construction, where it's at least been growing since early 2021 but nothing like the actual "booms" of the 1990s & 2010s.
