A new round of tariff cases just hit the federal trade court. On 8/3, 25 states led by Oregon sued at the U.S. Court of International Trade over the new Section 301 tariffs, the third attempt at sweeping tariffs after IEEPA and Section 122 fell short. #tariffs #civics

The Second Circuit sent Mahdawi v. Trump back to district court to be dismissed. Habeas corpus was the wrong tool. The 1996 zipper clause (§ 1252(b)(9)) is the only path to challenge removal, whether the fight is statutory or constitutional. brynodc.com/cases/mahdawi-v-trump-appeal
