The wait for PFAS test results could soon be measured in hours, not days. Our researchers have successfully trialled a mobile laboratory that can detect "forever chemicals" in soil and water on site, providing an early indication of contamination within six hours: utas.au/PFAS_testing

Yes, all going well, we see. A stadium we can't afford but don't worry - those getting rid of those "excess" 1.7k jobs will fix things. Oh, and all the back-end staff at schools that totally won't shift the administrative burden to already overburdened teachers. FFS. Useless.

Small article on the front page of today’s Mercury.

Heading reads: Rent is right out of reach

Byline: Rob Inglis

Text reads: The median rent for a room in a Tasmanian sharehouse is now unaffordable for singles earning the full-time minimum wage as Hobart's vacancy rate languishes at an all-time low of 0.2 per cent, an alarming new report has found. A Threads post from me - with the theme: Biology Teaching
The post reads: I was teaching blood typing and it was going really well until the students got squeamish and started asking "where did you get the blood from?", "where did you get the typewriter?", "why does it use blood instead of ink?", "why are you typing out our names?"...
Boy, you put in all that effort...

Funding for frontline FDSV services is still only 80% of what the sector has spent a decade calling for. That's 1 in 5 women being turned away. If this government can afford to hand $368b to Trump for AUKUS submarines, why can’t they afford to fully fund women and children’s safety?

There has been good work done to bring violence against women into the spotlight and encourage women to seek help. But if that help is not there because there isn’t enough funding, we are condemning women to homelessness, violence or death.

Just me and my PALS #HistoJoke #Spleen
A histological section of the spleen stained with H&E. In the centre, a large purple sphere of many, many cells - this is the white pulp. Outside, there are pale pink connective tissue strands and many, many red cells and nucleated cells. This is the red pulp. At the top of the white pulp is a small arteriole and a layer of cells - this is the peri-arteriolar lymphoid sheath, or PALS. There is a photo of the author in this area. Hence, me hanging with my PALS. It's a hilarious histology joke but very niche.

So, question to the void: Can Minnesota State Prosecutors collect evidence for the murder of Ms Good, interview and record witness statements, perform forensics, etc... and then pass that on to the DoJ when the next President is elected (assuming 49 doesn't preemptively pardon the murderer)?
