The discussions of masking here highlight a huge misunderstanding in how airborne viruses function. This, in turn, highlights a massive failure in public health education. Public Health needs to highlight the difference between airborne and droplet transmission. It is vital to protect our health.

I recently learned the term "narcissistically defended" and it has changed my perspective. I think we throw around the term "narcissist" too much these days. Not everyone who exhibits narcissistic traits is a narcissist. Using a term this impactful carelessly has led to dilution and desensitization.

However, I found that my love for #datascience has actually grown, and I'm exploring the fields of behavioral science and computational #psychology. Update: All the major COVID-19 and other infectious disease data pages mentioned in this story now appear to be updating on regular schedules again, despite reports that the comms ban at HHS will be extended. The data.cdc.gov portal is also back online after briefly going down over the weekend.

This fluvoxamine long COVID RCT primarily targets treatment of cognitive problems, such as difficulties with concentration. Fluvoxamine has anti-inflammatory and neurotrophic mechanisms which we hypothesize may improve brain function in people with long COVID.
