Building border barriers in Big Bend National Park threatens to destroy the landscape, disrupt wildlife migration, and deplete scarce groundwater. We're working with a broad coalition of environmental, conservation, and civil rights allies to stop it.

After using bikeshare/rental bikes in 2 different European countries (with much better cycling infrastructure) earlier this month, it is nice to come back home and remember how much I love this trusty steed for rides around town.

I briefly considered riding the CityLink Purple home after an evening meeting in Catonsville, but was rudely reminded that bus only runs once every ~45 minutes. When are we going to fund @mta.maryland.gov so it can be a functioning transit agency instead of whatever joke this is.

Came inches from getting right hooked by a car while bike commuting on New York Ave NW here this afternoon. Can we please turn this horribly narrow bike lane into a protected bike lane (and connect it to the K St bike lanes)? @cmbrookepinto.bsky.social @janeese4dc.bsky.social @waba.org

Most prescient, clear/eyed work of writing I’ve read on reorg. Read it. Then act. “Call your senators. Call your representative. Not next week or later. Now. Tell them this is not a reorganization — it’s the destruction of a federal agency by executive fiat and that Congress must intervene.”

When Bad Bunny scaled a utility pole during his Super Bowl show, it was more than a stunt. His performance highlighted Puerto Rico's frequent power cuts, which have been exacerbated by energy privatization. We're fighting for an equitable and just clean energy system for all Puerto Ricans.

Bad Bunny’s 13-minute performance at the big game was an ode to Puerto Rico — and its energy woes.

The big problem with NEPA reform -- which I'd like to see NEPA reformers grapple with a bit more -- is that if you open the thing up, most of the legislators doing the "reforming" are hostile to it & just want to get rid of env. review entirely. It's not a good-faith process.

There is a better way to travel between major US cities. It's not that we can't build high speed rail here... It's been a deliberate choice of political will, car industry lobbying and regulatory hurdles designed to make it seem impossible... But it is indeed a choice. www.cnn.com/interactive/...

High-speed rail is a proven alternative to gridlocked highways and overcrowded airports. CNN has reimagined a faster, more connected future for US commuters.

Gorsuch suggests that the Supreme Court is effectively discriminating against Native faiths and favoring mainstream religions by allowing the government to destroy a sacred Native site. (I certainly agree that SCOTUS tends to favor Christianity over all else!) www.supremecourt.gov/orders/court...
While this Court enjoys the power to choose which cases
it will hear, its decision to shuffle this case off our docket
without a full airing is a grievous mistake—one with consequences that threaten to reverberate for generations. Just
imagine if the government sought to demolish a historic cathedral on so questionable a chain of legal reasoning. I have
no doubt that we would find that case worth our time.
Faced with the government’s plan to destroy an ancient site
of tribal worship, we owe the Apaches no less. They may
live far from Washington, D. C., and their history and religious practices may be unfamiliar to many. But that should
make no difference. “Popular religious views are easy
enough to defend. It is in protecting unpopular religious
beliefs that we prove this country’s commitment to . . . religious freedom.” Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado
Civil Rights Comm’n, 584 U. S. 617, 649 (2018) (GORSUCH,
J., concurring).
