Disappointments hurt, they tear, they shake... but they also awaken, cleanse, and save. Sometimes we cling so tightly to what we desire that we fail to see that the universe, in its wisdom, doesn't take away what we deserve, but rather frees us from what doesn't belong to us.

That's a wrap on protons at the LHC! 💥 Today, the ATLAS experiment closed the chapter on proton-proton data-taking at the LHC. Since 2010, ATLAS has recorded over 500 fb⁻¹ of proton collision data – an incredible dataset that will enable high-precision measurements and searches for new physics.

✨️ What's next? Later this week, the LHC will enter its final data-taking period: swapping protons for lead ions. Once that wraps up, the #HiLumiLHC era begins. Over the coming years, ATLAS and the LHC will undergo major upgrades to drastically increase collision rates.
