Watched the #Crossroads Noele Gordon box set in 2023 and decided its time to do a rewatch, 3 episodes at a time. Starting with the earliest episode from April 1965 then two in 1966.

The Muppet Show won BAFTA's Best Light Entertainment Programme award in 1977. Against Morecambe & Wise, who made breakfast to the music of the stripper & danced with Angela Rippon and The Two Ronnies which had Fork Handles & The Phantom Raspberry Blower. Couldn't beat Swap Shop. #SwapShop50

In 1976, Multi-Coloured Swap Shop created the template that BBC Saturday morning kids TV would use, with tweaks for 40+ years. Even a few ITV Saturday morning kids shows like Saturday Banana would use it. I can remember when the number was 01-288-8055. #SwapShop50

50 years ago on Saturday 2nd October 1976. An experiment for Saturday morning television started on BBC1. The 1st series was meant to be for 12 weeks, was extended to six months & the series lasted for 6 years. Happy anniversary to the game changing, BAFTA winning Swap Shop!

I hope everyone enjoyed the little extra effort that was gone to with this run of Red Dwarf. (And I haven't even mentioned the fuss about which version of the episodes to show, which I can't go into details about but turned into a vague nightmare.) More fun stuff to come, hopefully.

Something that acknowledges fan reaction to this specific episode, and so proves that the channel understands what the hell it's broadcasting, but also teases the episode in a way which might make a normal viewer stick around and see what the fuss is about. Perfect.
