Letter to the University of Cambridge calling for the suspension of James Orr jonathanchaplin1.substack.com/p/letter-to-...
In my judgement, the Faculty and university are now suffering considerable and mounting reputational damage as a result of the highly credible allegations of criminal behaviour, in the form of breaches of electoral law, reported in the recent Channel 4 News programme about Dr Orr’s fundraising activities for Reform UK, and at greater length in the Verbatim Investigations film on which C4 drew (VERBATIM). In the C4 report, a former Electoral Commissioner declared himself to be ‘shocked’ by what he saw and said that some of the activities of Dr Orr there reported seemed on their face to be plainly illegal. In the Verbatim film, a senior lawyer was even more forthright in asserting that he judged they were clearly breaches of the law. It is at least very clear to any viewer that Dr Orr regarded some of his fundraising activities as needing to be concealed from public view.

Once again it needs to be stressed that this is something happening across the board in Irish immigration- changes in practice leading to refusals that would not have occurred in previous years. We are in a very dark time for the rights of people migrating to Ireland and their families.

Yes, first-past-the-post smothers democracy- not just by unrepresentative results, but by too many "safe" seats where it feels not worth voting. Only once in 30 years in GB did I feel my vote could make a difference. With STV, it always did. And STV excludes tiny parties, tails that wag the dog.

Statement - Gavin Bazunu

Representing my country means everything to me. I have the utmost respect for every single one of my team mates, the Manager, his staff and the Irish people

However I have reached a decision that I have hot taken lightly. I am a man of strong faith and try my best to be a person of character and principle therefore 1 feel it would be wrong to participate in the upcoming fixtures against Israel.

My decision is based purely upon my personal belief that the killing of innocent people is wrong.

It is important to note that my stance is not in opposition of the Israeli people or the Jewish community but against the atrocities in the region.

There are few times where you get a chance ir ife to stand up for something bigger and strongly believe that this is one of them
