Nice to see wealthy vehicle buyers are unphased by inflation of all things automotive related. As "Average" vehicle payments move up to $821 a month.

Crude down on the week but diesel ripping back to fresh all-time highs. Now at ~$228/bbl in New York Harbor, outstripping the prior all-time set two weeks ago.

Jesus Christ is this the most egregious level two charger pricing in America? $1.23 per kWh on the sketchy JUS Charging network.
Level two charger showing $1.23 kWh in Michigan when typically worst DTE electric rate for consumer would be around $0.25 per kWh.

My neighborhood dry cleaner/coin-op laundry/roof repair/auto detailing shop is now selling new low-speed Shandong Dabang EV minitrucks from Alibaba. The owner personally drives an INEOS Grenadier.
A Shandong Dabang EV minitruck from the front. This thing is tiny. Kei trucks dwarf it.But hey, it does have an articulating bed!A hand-written warning that it’s technically a low speed utility farm truck. But it has a full 2000 lb bed capacity!Fuzzy Wuzzy Rug Cleaning, Dry Cleaning, Coin-op Laundry, Roof Repair and Auto Detailing

Yesterday's cut in fuel-economy requirements got lots of headlines. But its change in the 1977 definitions of passenger vehicles vs light-duty trucks remains remarkably under-reported. Fully 70 percent of new vehicles sold in the U.S. today are defined as light trucks. (1 of 5)

"china is charging their cars in less time than it takes you to fill up your F-150" is the kind of banal jingoism i always assumed would get us finally kicking it up a notch on serious infrastructure buildout but we were a lot more directly addicted to gasoline in addition to racism than i thought

Compared with a friend their Blazer ICE cost to fill up $119 recently. Our cost via recent trip $8 for parking which included free charging. Even at a relatively high public $0.60 kWh L3 it'd cost $51 for BEV. And we've never been less than 5% SOC before charging.

“Who killed the electric car? Maximizing shareholder value, as implemented by Jack Smith and Rick Wagoner from 1992, killed the EV1. With the decision to sell GM Ovonic to Texaco, GM ensured that the United States lagged, rather than led in EV batteries.” So much innovation squandered.
