Today I was behind a queen. She was driving her Estoril Blue E36 M3 top down on a stunning 72°F fall day. Attached is an A+ vanity plate. Worthy of worship.

We thought moving away from our Patriot that we'd need a hybrid and that then the next vehicle would be BEV. But honestly having microchip shortage force our hand to go full BEV was a blessing.

We just got home from our 1st big road trip in the ‘26 Ioniq. No issues as usual, so many more chargers than 15 months ago. We were able to use Ionna more than half the time. Stopped at the Crazy 80’s museum in Dwight, IL, great collection and fun visit with David. 🧵 #weirdcarbs #evsky

We'll have to look at those again. We kind of like the panel balancing feature of the Emporia. Because with 2 BEVs at home on peak usage might be required occasionally.

Drove almost 400 miles full EV yesterday. Started less than 50% SOC (doh) and trusted Google to route us to our first DC charger. It was a surprise to see Electrify America at $0.40 kWh rate. For reason we still don't understand Google suggested a second charging stop to first destination.

The dream for us would be if our destination had a L2 charger. We'd have probably been there long enough to have had only a very short DC top off to get home. Maybe not even required.

Yes and no for home charging. We charge our personal BEV at home. But our current set up doesn't allow for a clean way to invoice charging costs for fleet BEV vehicle. Thanks partially to our shitty electric company that no longer offers separate meters. Just hoping we get it resolved for winter.

By the top off charge Google changed it's mind (we already knew we weren't going to stop). Found a Pilot on way home. *Almost* had enough to get home... If we were more disciplined we could have. Also if we could charge this vehicle at home (coming soon).
