“Zionism is racism” is not a policy but a slogan. It compresses a complex history, going back millennia, and a very wide set of beliefs into one narrow meaning. The answer to genocide is not discrimination. We don't fight racism with racism. I’m gutted to see this motion adopted by the Green Party.

Maybe I am too 'liberal'. I support nationalisation of all utilities, a wealth tax, a land value tax, broad based tax rises, loosening the fiscal rules. I would like to see government trials of UBI and a four day week, would like to see the repeal of Thatcher's trade union laws.

I broadly agree with much of this thread but I will say - part of the challenge opponents of this motion had is that the proposers of the motion were completely intolerant, incapable of negotiation in a way that is very alien to Green culture.

This is almost certainly true, and the UK fails women refugees in multiple ways, including by refusing safe routes to come here, wrongly rejecting asylum claims, barring family reunion & not recognising trafficking victims promptly or at all. Most those who support "Zionism is Racism" agenda have primarily the Palestinian condition in mind. While most diaspora Jews who oppose to it have the Jewish diasporic in mind. It's two separate conversations, talking past each other and that's not understood sufficiently.

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead. This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester
