The "Zionism is racism" motion, to be debated at the Green Party conference tomorrow, will not advance the Palestinian cause one inch. But, if adopted, it would marginalise and discredit the party. There are powerful ways to confront the genocide. Toxic gesture politics isn't one of them.

Polls have shifted so much in the Democrats favour that they're marginally ahead in Kansas (where they haven't won a Senate seat since 1932). And only 1 point behind in South Carolina where Lindsay Graham's sister Darline is running for the GOP to be his permanent replacement.

A man builds an IED. He sets it off in a busy public street. Shrapnel flies about hitting cars, homes and a child's bedroom. It's a miracle nobody is injured. And Reform MP Sarah Pochin calls his imprisonment "disproportionate" and "two tier justice."
It does raise this point of two-tiered
justice..

Reform's Sarah Pochin believes the
sentence handed to the 64-year-old who
blew up a ULEZ camera was
disproportionate'.

An unusual battery-powered tram could be considered as a fast link from Oxford to Witney, Carterton and other nearby towns. Oxfordshire councillors have been inspecting the Coventry Very Light Rail system, whose tracks are laid just 30cm into the road surface – greatly minimising construction cost.

To be clear on the PM's water industry commitment, there's no guarantee any water companies in England will be in public ownership by next election. The mechanism is the Govt is repealing the ban on public ownership. A new water bill will exert more public control of the companies in the meantime.

This is def a bit of progress. However - "the plans would then be put in Labour’s manifesto". So his plan is to still run the next elections under #FPTP. Which might prove disastrous. But, this *might* help build public pressure for earlier implementation. So overall I do think it's positive 🤞

Today’s speech from the Chancellor shows Labour offering more of the same. We need real action to tackle extreme wealth inequality in this country and make the super-rich pay their fair share.
Headline reads: “It’s time to tackle extreme wealth inequality.”
Quote from Ellie Chowns, MP for North Herefordshire:
“The Chancellor used his speech today to repeatedly stress a message of new leadership offering new hope, yet when it came to the substance behind the rhetoric, Britain was once again left with more of the same.
“He made no mention of the extraordinary wealth inequality holding our country back, nor did he state any ambitions for fair taxation of wealth.
“A government serious about fixing our economy cannot afford to look the other way while the uber-rich accumulate ever-more wealth and dodge paying their fair share.”
