It's World Drowning Prevention Day. Drowning takes more than 300,000 lives per year, that’s 30 every hour. nearly ¼ of deaths are children under 5. Globally, it is among the ten leading causes of death for children aged 5-14.

More than 90% of drowning deaths occur in rivers, lakes, wells, domestic water storage vessels and swimming pools in low- and middle-income countries, with children and adolescents in rural areas disproportionately affected.

A huge thank you to Suze and everyone who helped our campaign in Crewe South. In a month we’ve gone from a standing start to a strong third place We are disappointed yes but as Suze said this is a marathon not a sprint. Next time we can win - the Green menaces are here to stay!
