“My piece was inspired by Picasso's Guernica, a work that was his response to the Nazi's bombing of the Basque town. I thought there was a fitting parallel between these incidents about the high price paid by ordinary people when aggressive regimes try out new tactics of war, as well as a fitting juxtaposition of the darkness of living such an experience and the light we shone through it in our own resistance and care for one another. The patterns near Renee Good and Alex Pretti’s mouths are actually their last words in Morse code: ‘I’m not mad at you,’ and ‘Are you okay?’”

AQI was 526 when I went to bed and is a refreshing 352 now...it wasn't even that high even during my previous record high back in 2023. Gonna wear a half-face respirator to go get an echocardiogram today, both because I love my heart. Wearing a 3M Aura just doesn't feel like enough today. 🫠

Sometimes you go to a protest and you wonder if it's doing any good. Showing up to a protest is good optics and it can be cathartic, but you don't know if it will make a material difference. Today's protest, the indicted people could hear us from inside the courtroom. Our chanting gave them hope.

I became very familiar with the CDC list for conditions that lead to severe COVID through work and the most common were having a BMI>30, depression/mood disorders, asthma, a disability, physical inactivity or current/former smoker. A modest tour of the city for the finale of #30DaysOfBiking. In 30 days, I did 5 of 6 errands by bike, 363 miles, saw many familiar sights and several new, and am tired but have plans for another ride tomorrow with many more to come this year. Hope everyone had fun whether you rode 1 or 30 days.

seeing people organizing in masks always makes me want to cry. I'm so used to the indifference (at best) and malice (at worst) from most people these days around masking, so whenever people care enough to make their spaces safer, it gets me!!! disabled people belong to this world and work too. <3
