I'm glad that the fact the complaint alleged the article framed trans women as predators and the Sindo responded by saying it didn't present trans men as predators did not go unremarked upon. providing a transphobic defense for a transphobic column is wild

what is particularly disgraceful about Power's comment to me is that it occurs in a column where she ignores the elephant in the room with Daniel Ramamoorthy – that he was a Christian activist and a longtime DJ on Spirit Radio, a station on which Brenda herself is a frequent guest

A short thread on “legitimate concerns”. The phrase is used repeatedly by UK government ministers. The Home Secretary is at it again this week. But only ever - as far as I can tell - in one context: people’s response to the arrival of asylum seekers. Please read whole 🧵before responding - thanks

Graham Linehan responding to someone posting a video of Erin Tatum - a comedian with cerebral palsy - using an ableist slur is a very deliberate choice, isn't it?
A tweet by an account called Orangemaxxing sharing a video by Erin Tatum, a comedian and writer with cerebral palsy, saying "Ed Sheeran is getting cooked by literally everyone." Graham Linehan responds to this with a picture of the guy and the comment "literally every r*tard."

Laoise de Brún of the "Women’s Coalition on Immigration" says migrants are responsible for a disproportionate amount of sexual violence in Europe. Niamh Uí Bhriain, owner of Gript Media, consistently rams home the same message. So, of course, they're both welcoming a violent sex criminal to Ireland
The Women's Coalition on Immigration was formed in response to growing concerns about the impact of immigration policies on women's safety, child safeguarding and democratic accountability. The Coalition was formed by CEO and founder of The Countess, Laoise de Brún BL, who authored a thematic report with journalist Barbara McCarthy.
The Coalition launched with the publication of their 20-page thematic report entitled "Through a Safeguarding lens, darkly: a thematic report into the International Protection Provision in Ireland." The report compares official data collated by domestic police forces and government departments of six European countries that shows an overrepresentation of non-national men in sexual offence statistics, to argue that current policies are putting women and children at risk.Niamh Uí Bhriain interviews Laoise de Brún on the issue of migrant crime

(FILES) This combination of pictures created on September 08, 2025 shows, L/R, E. Jean Carroll departing Manhattan federal appeals court following arguments in a judgement appeal brought by former US President Donald Trump, in New York City, September 6, 2024 and US President Donald Trump at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on September 7, 2025. The US Supreme Court on August 17, 2026, rejected for a second time President Donald Trump's attempt to overturn a jury judgment that he sexually assaulted and defamed writer E Jean Carroll. The Supreme Court did not give any reason for its decision not to hear the president's challenge. The court in late June also refused to hear Trump's appeal against the original May 2023 verdict. Carroll, 82, a former journalist and columnist, accused Trump of assaulting her in a dressing room of a New York department store in 1996. (Photo by Leonardo Munoz and Mandel NGAN / AFP)

Laoise de Brún is back on Tipp FM this morning. they asked listeners if we had any questions for her. here are mine:
1. Why did Laoise describe herself as "proud" to speak at an event run by the Danube Institute, a think tank that was funded by the Orbán regime using stolen money of the Hungarian people? I thought she was against state funding of ideological projects?

2. Does she really believe that MI6 wrote the public statements released by the family of the little girl stabbed in Parnell Square? She said so on X.

3. Does she really believe the pyramids were built by "a superior intelligence"? She said so on X.

4. Does she really think that Irish people have a "mycellium-like connectivity" that creates "a certain decorum and attentiveness and solicitousness" that makes them less likely to abuse people in institutional settings than immigrants? She said so on X.

5. If so, why does she think all that abuse happened in institutional settings in Ireland when we had extremely low immigration?

the myth of Simon Harris as some champion for disabled people was always nonsense, but it should be well and truly dead now. he gets his hands on the purse strings and it's not long-promised cost of disability payments he prioritises, or scrapping means tests, it's tax cuts and investment incentives
