Case in point my MIL hasn’t had a driver’s license for years, she’s been pulled over at least 5 times (that we’re aware of) and not so much as received a ticket!

If you truly, *honestly* believe that Dems needed to be wiped out, you wouldn't spend the next two years trying to backfill justifications as to why their actions didn't actually lead to anything bad. Which, as I learned as a Green in 2017, is a *great way* for people to never listen to you again.

Again, we’re still talking about an incredibly expensive solution when compared to other renewables. Also, breeder reactors still require further R&D to become viable, while solar, wind, and geothermal are proven technologies that are ready for deployment today

We don’t though. There still has yet to be a permanent solution for storing nuclear waste. France’s sites are still considered temporary. Even if they do a good job, I just don’t see the value in trying to make such an expensive form of energy generation work when it (1/2)

Setting aside the fact that we still don’t know what do with the waste it generates, even if it was perfectly safe it still is far, far more expensive than renewable alternatives

Hard agree with the other two but nuclear power is too expensive to be worth the potential risks, especially when compared with safer alternatives

my like 60 percent confident take from the start of all this is that the strait is not ever opening back up so long as Trump is in the chair. even if President Pedophile could be trusted to stick to a deal (he can't) he'd straight up forget about it 3 hours later

if a leftist says he's anti-zionist because of the war crimes of a sovereign nation the times will suggest he is an anti-semite. if a conservative says that he is "j-pilled" the times will say it's about foreign policy.

the issue here is that the american left still frequently suffers from the same malady as the median voter, the belief that things cannot ever get worse than the status quo, thus the status quo is the worse things have ever been and can ever be.

This is correct. I think the underlying issue this piece kinda of elides tho is that a bunch of Americans online are convinced that they are communists, when they are actually just libertarians who use leftist rhetoric to rationalize their libertarianism.

Last month the NYT said AOC "struggled" to give an answer on Taiwan and quoted her with "uhs" and "ums" to make her look stupid Yesterday talking about Hormuz Trump claimed he's heard from "numerous countries" and said "uh" four times. The NYT deleted the "uhs" and paraphrased him to look smarter:
NYT on Feb. 13, 2026:

The visit also demonstrated the relative foreign policy inexperience of Ms. Ocasio-Cortez, who has made a few overseas trips since taking office but does not sit on any House committees devoted primarily to world affairs. She struggled at times to formulate succinct answers at a nighttime panel session, during which she was asked probing and specific questions about how to respond to international crises.

Questioned about whether the United States should send troops to defend Taiwan if China invaded the island, she stalled for roughly 20 seconds before offering a substantive response.

“I think that, uh, this is such a, a — you know, I think that — this is a, um — this is of course, a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy of the United States,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said, before saying that the country should try to avoid reaching that point with China in the first place.NYT on March 16, 2026:

On Monday, Mr. Trump claimed that “numerous countries have told me they’re on the way,” noting that President Emmanuel Macron of France would most likely help in the Strait of Hormuz and was an eight out of 10. “Not perfect, but it’s France,” he said.

Others are not demonstrating sufficient enthusiasm for his demands, he said.

Existence of Mamdani in the media criticism discourse is so useful because it demonstrates what the media could be doing to Trump if they ACTUALLY thought that he was an aberrant threat to our Republic. Not that you need to do this for Trump but: You can just write negative stories based on nothing!

One of the most shocking things I heard when talking to a mom at Dilley
Immigration Detention Center (Texas) is that parents are paying $39 a day for drinkable bottles of water. They give that water to their kids and drink the tap water that makes them sick themselves.
If I understood correctly, babies who need water for formula need a medical note for the bottled water.
I will share more soon. The cruelty is shocking.

New poll: Democrats' real problem isn't being too liberal — it's being seen as too weak
Americans, including swing voters, see the Republican Party as 20 points more extreme than Democrats — and the Democrats as weak and ineffective. So why would the *Democrats* moderate?
