To have multiple cop cars wait to box in a bike of a nonbinary racialized cyclist then pull out this, right in front of protesters' rest areas when media crews were there to cover it smells at best like trying to get hits for Ford's base, at worst like trying to incite violence. We didn't bite. ✊️🚴

Drivers are probably the most anti-driver people out there.

Just one example of helmet nuance that almost no one knows. The safety standards that certify bike helmets were drafted in the 70s and haven't been updated this century. Helmet manufacturers know they are woeful. No one is pushing to make new tech that lowers incidence of concussions mandatory. Why?

Better cycling cities are not just "more bike-friendly." They are also more equitable in access to cycling between genders. This means that infrastructure, safety, and policy improvements tend to benefit women more by removing barriers that affect them disproportionately.

Arizona just recorded its 7th hottest June on record, with extreme or exceptional long term drought in all 15 counties. Drinking water there is finite. Republicans still let a Saudi dairy company pump it free to grow hay for cows 8,000 miles away. #Arizona #Water #WaterIsLife
ARIZONA GROUNDWATER
REPUBLICANS GAVE ARIZONA'S WATER TO SAUDI ARABIA
A Saudi dairy giant has pumped Arizona aquifers for a decade, growing hay it ships overseas. It is still pumping today.
$0
paid for the water. Fondomonte's leases never required payment for pumping.
$25
an acre for state land that a 2018 state study valued at $125 an acre.
BANNED Saudi Arabia outlawed growing alfalfa
at home in 2018. It uses too much water.
80%
of groundwater pumped in the Ranegras Plain Basin comes from Fondomonte.
Republican Governors Jan Brewer and Doug Ducey leased the land and let Fondomonte pump free. Governor Katie Hobbs ended the Butler Valley leases. Fondomonte's other lease runs to 2031.
