Can we give someone other than the usual IPC and public health failures an opportunity to actually do something about preventing COVID infections? The apathy of the medical leaders who allowed COVID to become endemic so they can pretend it's not their fault is really starting to get old.

Gatwick is set to go ahead with a second runway - but doing so is unlikely to improve the lives of people across the country. There are much better ways to boost our economy that don't threaten our climate targets...
Quote from Hannah Peaker, deputy chief executive: Andy Burnham has been clear that he wants to see living standards rising in every part of the country. But people living outside London and the south-east will not thank the government for persisting with this plan. Expanding airports like Gatwick doesn’t create new jobs - it displaces them from the wider regions, particularly from the domestic tourism industry which is a key beneficiary of spending outside London and the south-east.

New DfE statutory guidance on allergy safety in schools states: "Clean air is a core asthma control measure. Good ventilation, air quality monitoring and supplemental HEPA air filtration are essential." Schools are now legally required to have regard to that. 2/
children. Exercise and cold air can also cause symptoms. Common symptoms include coughing, wheezing and breathlessness out of proportion to effort, and a tight chest. An asthma attack occurs when symptoms are severe, and breathing becomes difficult.

Poor air quality worsens asthma and increases asthma attacks, and those in deprived areas with poorer nutrition suffer increased negative health effects from poor air quality. Clean air is a core asthma control measure. Good ventilation, air quality monitoring and supplemental HEPA air filtration are essential, especially when ventilation is limited and outdoor air is polluted. Systematically integrating and embedding clean indoor air into legal health and safety duties, policies, procedures and practices will reduce pressure on staff and ensure consistency and support without too much extra work.

Children and young people known to have asthma should have their own reliever inhaler at school to treat symptoms and for use in the event of an asthma attack. If they are able to manage their asthma themselves they should keep their inhaler on

Half of UK welfare is pensions, 1 in 3 people on Universal Credit are in work, disabled people are disabled, more of them since Covid hit, but the welfare bill as % of GDP is stable (lower than most developed countries) and is forecast to stay stable and below OECD average for the next 5 years.
Chart from the Resolution Foundation of Social security spending as a proportion of GDP by category, Great Britain. The chart from 2007-2008 shows social security spending falling since 2013 from a peak in 2008-2009, pensions rising to account for the biggest share, and disability and incapacity spending rising in the post-Covid years from 2023.

You may be interested in having a look at the report of the SARS Commission. The medical management class mishandled SARS-CoV-1 the same way they mishandled SARS-CoV-2. The exact aerosol screwup that let COVID loose was flagged as "things not to do" in 2006! wayback.archive-it.org/17275/202203...
One should be aware of the effects of droplet evaporation and the resultant diminution in size of ejected droplets. A 30 Ìm droplet dries to a 5 Ìm droplet within seconds under normal indoor air conditions. This means that a large droplet, as it evaporates, will not settle to the ground but become a free-floating entity. This has implications for the 3 foot rule, the basis for infection control precautionary measures, since it is commonly believed that large droplets ejected upon sneezing or coughing will follow Stoke’s Law and fall to ground within a 3 foot distance from the person’s face. It is evident that it is commonly believed that the 3 foot rule is a division between an unsafe and safe distance. There is no indication that the 3 foot rule takes into consideration the evaporation factor and the drift factor of airborne droplets, as discussed above. No scientific evidence is offered by WHO,DHHS-CDC,PCAH,or other medical authorities in explaining the rule. If large droplets quickly evaporate to free-floating small droplets, then the 3 foot rule applies only to droplets greater than about 50 – 100 Ìm in diameter for which there is insufficient time chance for evaporation to take effect before they fall to the ground from a height of 5–6 feet. Free floating small droplets readily go beyond the 3 foot radius. Therefore, if the majority of ejected droplets following a sneeze are evaporated to a size that is free-floating after only seconds in air, the 3 foot rule becomes illogical and not particularly helpful from a disease transmission perspective.

This is not COMPLETE airborne infection control advice, people. It's good general advice though. Yes, wash your hands. But, it doesn't protect against airborne infections like COVID. For that you need an ffp2 ffp3 mask or equivalent, space ventilation and air filtration. Get vaccinated if you can.
