GO AQS Launches New Working Group to Develop the First Open Technical Standard for Low-Cost PM2.5 Sensors
GO AQS is excited to announce the launch of a new dedicated working group tasked with creating the first open technical standard for low-cost PM2.5 sensors (the electronic component). Target publication is set for 2027. Why Matters Air quality is dynamic. To capture localized pollution spikes, spatial variations, and real-time exposure, continuous, widespread measurement is essential. While low-cost PM2.5 sensors and monitors have expanded air quality monitoring globally, the market faces a core challenge: uncertainty.

While long-term investment in school buildings remains essential, there are practical actions that can begin now. Improving school air quality requires action at every level: immediate steps, medium-term planning and long-term change.
Words Many steps to improving air quality inside classrooms cost little or nothing, and some are perfect for involving students.
Every action, no matter how small, contributes to meaningful change.
Funding is urgent and necessary, but children and staff can not wait. Change can begin today.

They never measured the air. The filters were run at settings chosen for noise and comfort in communal rooms (low flow). They didn't even calculate room volumes — and no tracer, particle, or bioaerosol data confirms the intervention lowered airborne pathogen concentrations anywhere. 1/
