Trump’s invitation to Putin to attend the G20 in Florida in December is outrageous and totally undermines Western solidarity with Ukraine. This US govt is enabling autocracy, and arguably colluding with Putin’s despotic regime. Other Western leaders mustn’t be party to this. They should not attend.

I think that Ukrainian missiles and drones also wanted to cast a vote today in Russia. It is one of the few genuine votes in this fake parliament election.

We need to dispense with the useless euphemisms that have previously been used to describe this so politicians can look away. This is war, plain and simple, and is how Putin sees it. And it will only get worse until Russia thinks it is getting push back. understandingwar.org/research/def...

One of the key problems with AI is that the AI bros and their behemoth companies have absolutely no governance or guardrails. It's not that the AI is conscious or going rogue or whatever. It's that it's run by feckless arseholes. www.ft.com/content/2c34...

Any agreements coming out of the Witkoff-Kushner Moscow visit will stick to the same formula as all the other US-Russia agreements on Ukraine during Trump's 2nd term: Russia gets Ukraine's land, Trump and his circle get richer; Ukraine gets to do what they're told.

No one had to think super hard about how to make a washing machine useful. A telephone. A vacuum cleaner. So why do our bosses have to constantly challenge us to find something, anything, for which AI might be helpful If your customers don’t find your product useful, that’s a you-problem

Much fuss about basically nothing ? The Ceuta situation once again showed that if European leaders could have waited a day or so before reacting, the whole thing could’ve basically been solved amicably. The real-time outrage loops and need to react to everything IMMEDIATELY is a huge issue

Lots of talk about cost of Palantir, founders’ troubling values, risks to data sovereignty. But the thing you don’t hear enough is that it’s nothing special. Talk to industry or users and they’ll tell you that loads of companies can do what Palantir does - better - at a fraction of the cost. 1/2

Google I/O for those that didn't watch.
A meme from the movie "They Live" where the main character, John Nada, finds glasses that allow him to see the true nature of the world. In the first scene the glasses are off, and he looks at a Google exec by a board which says "Google Search is AI Search". He then puts the glasses on and the board changes to "We will enshittify everything you love, then we'll do it to all the things you hate, too"

For years, the Kremlin has seen Europe as easily manipulated and defeated because it's terrified by the prospect of any risk or hardship. The UK govt's shameful decision on Russian energy will confirm that view. For that reason, it's dangerous not just for Ukraine but for the UK.

"Trump's ceasefire" looks as likely to have originated in Washington as last winter's 28-point "US peace plan". Extraordinary to see the president of the United States acting as the face-saving front for Putin - not that Zelensky's response gives Putin any scope for face-saving.
