Despite my love of both Community and a funny cartoon, I avoided Krapopolis purely because of the name but the first season is on the iPlayer now and it's great (Hannah Waddingham and Matt Berry as a Greek goddess and her Manticore husband great) www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Krapopolis
It's called 'civilisation', ever heard of it? A new empire dawns in Ancient Greece - whatever one of those is. Hysterical historical comedy starring Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry.

This is the first season I’ve really wondered if the producers provide any therapy or emotional support to contestants. #gbbo

This notion of bigoted beliefs being a protected characteristic like gender or race is just absolutely barmy. Those of us who’ve experienced genuine discrimination for who we are know there’s no comparison, and the political and legal collusion on this stuff is disastrous.

Govt minister Josh MacAlister claims unemployed young people are paid with PIP to be out of work. Except PIP isn't an out of work benefit, plenty of people who receive PIP are in work & PIP enables them to do that. Josh knows this. What hes doing is whipping up anger towards disabled people.

The idea that "Nazis like Wagner" (never really true) let people conjure a fantasy of sophisticated but monstrous high-culture fascists. But no, Curzio Malaparte made that stuff up to save his own neck, and there was that cool clockwork guy in Hellboy, but real fascists are hooting chuds.

LOL, the gotcha part in the second paragraph is truly hilarious. Who will think of the straight white rightwing men in the literary world? WHO? WHO?
Last week, the longlists for the National Book Awards were announced. Among the 20 authors in the fiction and nonfiction categories, nearly all are straight white males. Most are also on the political right, some even on the far right. Remarkably, mainstream media outlets haven’t reported this, perhaps because they don’t think it’s noteworthy. It’s as if we were living in 1956 rather than 2026.

If you’re scratching your head at this “news,” well, it’s because I made it up. Or rather, I inverted the particulars about the authors’ identities and their political views to make a point: If today, as a reader, you recoil at the thought of a time in which minorities were systematically marginalized when it came to the literary world’s public honors (and so much else), shouldn’t you also recoil now that the tables have been almost completely turned? And if you object to the right’s efforts to politicize the arts, won’t you also object when the efforts come from the left?

When you read Kraft’s statement, both this headline and the article it links to are enormously misleading. Kraft says he’s been asked to donate, doesn’t say he has, and doesn’t mention any charities. Readers could be forgiven for thinking Kraft had donated to the charities listed in the text.
