I have had so many people tell me that this thing does NOT happen in blue states - I keep on repeating that a lot of these anti-trans policies are either federal or (as is the case here) are implemented specifically in blue states.

It's maddening, because the curator system is actually really good when used properly. If you follow a curator their recommendations will start showing up on your homepage, and it's an excellent way to get some hand picked suggestions over algorithmic ones, but Valve lets it fester with bad actors.

I feel like, I really like it when people actually go like "Ok we know this is bad, I'm going to show you HOW bad!!!!!" and just go all in on that, but often that's not what happens but rather something more... palatable and bland? "Apologetic tone" definitely covers it

LLMs and the whole tropification/'comps over everything else' style reviewing are both forms of commodification and imo cut from the same cloth; it's not going to be popular but I think it's worth having that conversation of why and how the ecosystem of the latter reinforces the logic of the former

I tried it and I graded a lot, but I also kind of overdid my workout. Also, some exercises work better for this than others... (I tried squats and that was such a no.) I think physical activity helps me much better than other breaks, but only up to a point lol

I'm honestly wondering if I should treat a ton of grading like workout sets, because after a bunch of them, I need a mental break like a physical break. Or maybe even combine those. Like idk, one assignment, ten kettlebell swings. One assignment, ten kettlebell swings. Has anyone tried this?

I own copyright on the vast majority of cover art I’ve created. And yes, I own the right to make prints of that art. But even when fans demand I make prints upon book release, I don’t do it @ that time. Why? Because I want the author and publisher to make $$$$$. But those art rights remain mine.

People sometimes ask what Burn With Me was inspired by... And although there are no direct influences from games or other media, I still want to highlight a book (or rather two books) that have helped and influenced the narrative of the game a lot: the analysis of folktales by Vladimir Propp.

Morphology of the Folktale by Vladimir Propp

Historical roots of the Wondertale by Vladimir Propp

(no idea why it's not "Folktale" here. This is the main book out of two btw)

BLUE SUNSET by Denise Rose Hansen

At a conference somewhere in Europe, Maja meets the Author. Haunted by a recent tragedy, she leaves with him unexpectedly to his home on the Italian coast, where she wanders into the rhythms of his life, observing the world through the lens of his days. Yet everywhere over their new and tender intimacy hangs the knowledge that soon she will have to return home to Copenhagen, site of her devastating loss. With echoes of Virginia Woolf and Ann Quin, Denise Rose Hansen paints with spare, deft lyricism the complicated landscape of grief and yearning that Maja crosses over on her journey toward something new.

WHAT REMAINS by Brais Lamela (Translated from the Galician by Jacob Rogers)

Shifting between the intimate present and the archival past, New York City and the remote mountains of Negueira de Muñiz, Galician writer Brais Lamela’s award-winning debut novel follows a young scholar’s journey into the forgotten history of the Franco regime, uncovering both the past and the still-present afterlife of a forced resettlement project in the Galician countryside of the 1960s.
