The new tooling makes SA-1 analysis way more aggressive. 64 GB pagefile to compensate my lack of RAM (current DDR5 prices on Brazil are too much for me right now) - but I'm super glad that it's working. Super Metroid SA-1 will happen.

MiSTer being flooded with AI cores, and also AI edits of pre-existing cores, shows how the guy running the project just absolutely does not care and turns a blind eye to all this shit. Which is incredibly frustrating to see the downfall like this.

I used to love hanging out in the dev channels, watching smart people solve hard problems. Now it's "I'm not sure if it's accurate but it sounds better to me!" The concern about all the harm AI does just thrown away because now you can tweak a game without knowing anything about it.

A hidden terribleness about the AI translations of older games that keep popping up lately - in this case Tricolor Crise for the Dreamcast - is the way they knock the wind out of the sails of the people who are trying to actually do it properly. This is how I did the intro for Game Sack starting in 2024. I used my iPad Mini to mirror my Mac's desktop and draw in Photoshop with the Apple Pencil. It's animated on 2s which means it runs at 15 frames per second. I didn't want anyone to think this was a filter or AI!

RayForce (aka Layer Section aka Galactic Attack aka Gunlock) is one of my favorite games of all time, and also a cautionary tale about ceding decision making to AI.

Okay so this is a bottle in the sea for whoever at Nintendo might see this or something: Please fix #KirbyAirRiders matchmaking. It seems the worldwide setting just doesn't work. I never get matched with japanese players at all it seems, as apparently there are a lot of japanese players.

It never worked, I tested this shortly after launch. I couldn't find a Top Ride match at all here in Europe with "anywhere" setting enabled. My friends in America had no problems finding matches at the same time.

The main signal path is to my matrix, which outputs both to my capture card (+ monitor passthrough) and my TV. But I can switch consoles directly to the TV for HDMI 2.1 or Genlock (basically retro console vrr) for the RetroTINK.

Very cool tool. My suggestions: An adjustable switch item (similar to SVS), that lets you change the amount of inputs and outputs. Bonus points if it lets you select between different HDMI speeds (1080p, 4K, 8K). A capture card item. A generic console with editable name and output type.

Puyo Puyo Chronicles probably deserves a higher rank for its puzzle modes, but I only played the RPG mode, which is very grindy and formulaic. There are a couple very funny moments in the story and if you're a Puyo fan you probably won't mind the slower pace.
