Way what you like about this modern world (and I do have things to say!) but it's pretty cool to spend a day inventing and produce something that didn't exist until you decided it should. I needed an AUX input for my old car, so I made one.

I'm starting to think that maybe it means something when the biggest booster group for the utility of AI is programmers. I'm not going to try to guess what, but the group I used to greatly respect, as they changed the world and made cool things, is too often all in with the dishonourable machine.

Finished a small mod on my Hori Fighting Stick (2019), replacing the white Hayabusa buttons with a colourful variety of Punk Workshop V1 units, and wiring up an ASCII C4XJ optical stick to complete the silent operation theme. It feels so good to use. ^__^

There's a window high above my bed, and I put a little shelf on it for my cat to sit on. She likes to get morning skritches when I wake up, so she makes sure to be on that shelf before I wake. When I stir in the morning she looks over and watches me, so this is the first thing I see most days.

Those of us in the MiSTer scene who used to say it was a home for accurate reproductions of old games had the rug yanked out from beneath us by AI slop devs and an unsympathetic "ruling class". I'm noisy about this because it hurts. (I've nothing but respect for @josembarroso.bsky.social )
