Okay, I have a few thoughts about this but I need to REALLY think it through before posting them fully. The short version is that I understand the concern, and I do wish them luck on getting official support from Namco. But no matter what, Aliexpress repros are inevitable sadly.

AI recomps are cringe, and if companies like Nintendo or Sony goes after them, they deserve every last bit of it. They are not worth your time or energy to play, when they are made by a bunch of low-effort, clout-chasing goblins. Also fuck anyone who promotes that shit. Bunch of sellouts.

Small weekend pickup! Nothing too major, but I wanted to snag a few ins and outs.

This is so fucking frustrating, because I use GameChop music with my videos due to how good the remixes are. To find out that the guy who runs it is an AI bro is disappointing, but also the fact he hides behind his kids to avoid criticism is disgusting.

I'm actually quite pleased! Though I was gone for over a month, the RGB Nintoaster video surpassed my repro video in way less time! I guess there might actually be something to explore after all with this sub-series 👀 It won't replace my repair or mod vids, but it's worth sprinking here and there.

I'm not putting this person on blast, but I do want to talk about stuff like this. I think it's always important to remember that most people don't know everything that you possibly do. And that's perfectly okay! None of us start our journeys knowing everything in our field.(1/?)

I just want to take a moment to thank my wonderful gf @artisticangelbb.bsky.social. Even as the retro community falls apart before my eyes, she is still around to remind me to never lose hope. She is my everything, and I don't think I would still be around without her. I love you so much, baby❤️💜

I'm so tired, man. I just want to go back to a time where I can just enjoy things in peace, without having to ever question if something was made with AI or by a controversial person. It shouldn't be this hard, yet people make it out like it's more difficult than rocket science to not.

Hello! 🧸🌿 I just joined and wanted to introduce myself! I’m a 26yo SFW digital artist. I’ve been drawing for 10+ years and absolutely love creating whimsical animal illustrations + more! Here are a few of my favorite recent pieces. I can’t wait to connect with y’all! 🎨🫶 #CuteArt #IllustratorsOnBsky

A digital fanart illustration of Sonic the Hedgehog standing at home plate on a baseball field. He is wearing a red batting helmet, white gloves, and his signature red sneakers while holding a wooden baseball bat over his shoulder with a playful expression.

A bright and colorful digital drawing of Cheer Bear from Care Bears. The pink bear is happily skipping through a grassy field under a blue sky, showing off the rainbow symbol on her belly. A small purple butterfly flies in the top right corner.

Fanart of a Valentine’s Day themed Cat from Cat Game. She’s decorated with pink heart patterns on her fur. The kitty is tangled in a golden ribbon against a deep red backdrop filled with large pink and purple heart balloons.

A digital illustration of my Fursona, ButterflyBlossom! She is a fluffy purple wolf with dark purple hair, dark wings, a green bow, and heart markings on her fur. She is sitting happily inside a black pot of gold at the end of a sparkling rainbow, decorated with a large four-leaf clover.

My take, as an OOT Fan: I love the environments and some of the character models are actually pretty good. But damn, do any of the human-like characters look weird. I get they are trying to blend aspects of the original with the new, but it's not really working out for any of the human-like chars.

Fenris Wolf Retro @fenriswolfretro.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Side-Tangent: I hate how the replacement NES Front Loader doors aren't even CLOSE to matching the color of a front loader top shell. Also, much like the replacement 72 pin connectors, doesn't fit EXACTLY the same as the originals. 🙃

MiSTer being flooded with AI cores, and also AI edits of pre-existing cores, shows how the guy running the project just absolutely does not care and turns a blind eye to all this shit. Which is incredibly frustrating to see the downfall like this.

Quick little mini project, I got in this Retro-Bit Retro Entertainment System v1 in the mail today. Unfortunately I don't have a 6v PSU to test it with, but luckily their is a spot for a 7805. Removed the old transistor, installed a 7805, and boom! Now it can take 9-12v.

Ah yes, the same guy who went back and forth with me over his use of AI, and gave me a legendarily funny quote that I want on a shirt 🤣 I also find it hilarious that he basically just admitted to a crime here by USING STOLEN SOURCE CODE! He is basically BEGGING for Nintendo to sue him, atp.

So contrary to popular belief, I don't get many customer/client install requests. But when I do, it's always a treat! Recently got sent in an Atari 2600 for a recap & UAV install. I misplaced my ribbon cable, so had to make due with what I had. And the end results are still solid!

FRIENDLY REMINDER: Before you do something stupid, like destroy clone consoles, remember that these consoles DO STILL HOLD VALUE! Just because they are "cheap knockoffs", do not mean they don't hold any value to retro gamers or collectors! Stop e-wasting these for no fucking reason!
