I got Vermintide for my birthday and it had another rarepair hidden in it for me #art #warhammer #vermintide

Sketch of Witch Hunter Victor Saltzpyre and Bright Wizard Sienna Fuegonasus from Warhammer Vermintide. Sienna is sitting on a table, curling seductively against Victor who looks down on her, unimpressed.
There's also a doodle of Victor's hat catching on fire on Sienna's hair.

Discworld QOTD, from Wintersmith

It was lonely on the hill, and cold. And all you could do was keep going. You could scream, cry, and stamp your feet, but apart from making you feel warmer, it wouldn’t do any good. You could say it was unfair, and that was true, but the universe didn’t care because it didn’t know what “fair” meant. That was the big problem about being a witch. It was up to you. It was always up to you.

I'm writing a guide to gaming terms and genres for a client and I just couldn't help myself

Screenshot of a document, text reads:

AI: this term has been used in gaming for several decades before the rise of current AI models, generative AI, and LLMs. As a result, you may find it in discussions around game mechanics and player experiences. In this context, it refers to a series of pre-programmed responses or behaviours assigned to NPCs encountered in the game, which provide the NPC with contextual information on what to do when key in-game actions do or don’t happen. Examples include:
1. Birds taking flight when disturbed
2. Someone opening an umbrella when it starts raining
3. A guard on nightwatch yawning and stretching
4. Crowds and vendors in a busy marketplace
5. Enemies that investigate a strange noise and then claim it was “probably just the wind”

I can confirm this game was completely hidden from me in Steam unless I searched for "Nighthawks" in the Advanced Search. Really hope Steam can reassess this. I've added it to my Wishlist now, but if I hadn't happened to see this random post, I wouldn't have known it was coming out so soon.

Discworld QOTD, from The Wee Free Men

The stories never said why she was wicked. It was enough to be an old woman, enough to be all alone, enough to look strange because you have no teeth. It was enough to be called a witch. If it came to that, the book never gave you the evidence of anything. It talked about "a handsome prince"... was he really, or was it just because he was a prince that people called handsome? As for "a girl who was as beautiful as the day was long"... well, which day? In midwinter it hardly ever got light! The stories don't want you to think, they just wanted you to believe what you were told...

I hate transphobic language with a passion. V Ramaswamy isn’t going to hear Ohioans or lead for Ohioans AT ALL, let alone LGBTQ+. Vote Dr. Acton INTO office, she will welcome the people, and I will come support you at her doorstep, and we will squeeze her like a lemon.
