I'm devastated to say we had to say goodbye to our strange little Norah girl today, who had a short battle with cancer as well as kidney disease. We adopted her and sis Martha from WHS as tiny kittens. She used to help me cook, and loved perching on me. 1/3

Something I finished up a couple weeks ago. Based on the original Dogs Playing Poker painting by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge, but instead it's the mascots of Prairie Malt, Melvin Brewing and Roadhouse Brewing.

A digital painting meant to evoke vintage oils of a prairie dog, an African elephant, and a grizzly bear gathered around a green felt-covered table playing poker. At left the prairie dog is seated in a red-upholstered armchair and using a thick book for a boost up to table level. He's shuffling his hand while smoking a pipe. Filling up the center of the composition is the elephant looking straight out at the viewer over his comically tiny pince nez glasses as he looks at his cards. At right is the grizzly bear peeking into the frame, somehow wedged into a similar armchair. He appears to be getting off some humorous bon mot and is wearing a little bowler hat and has a lit cigar in one paw.
