the year is 2035. I tune in to Mayor Farkas’s 24/7 multi-camera livestream. he’s explaining how the city has doubled the number of oxygen tank dispensaries to help people breathe during the fires. Council no longer has the authority to vote on land use amendments. average rent is $8000 a month.

Just how unrepresentative is Canada's democracy right now? Here is how much support the premiers and PM have from among all registered voters. If you're wondering why politicians seem so out of line from the average person, here is why.

Same! We barely watch TV anymore and the movies we watch these days are like from the 30s. Everything just was really bad? Even "good" shows. I'm not even a snob. I like trash!

Fascinating to me that the folks on threads are capable of hating Danielle Smith for doing, largely, exactly the same thing they praise Mark Carney for doing on the climate crisis lol
"BREAKING: PM Carney announces Pacific Link, the official Transmountain pipeline part 2, while Danielle Smith stands there trying to learn how collaboration is supposed to look and sound, while simultaneously trying not to combust in flames as treasonous gaslight witch."

Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest.

In light of the report highlighting how the UCP sacrificed the lives and health of meat-packing plant workers for Cargill's profits, the racist referenda scapegoating immigrants for the UCP's incompetence must be cancelled, and the government must issue an apology to the workers and their families.

Carney is truly the Reagan of Canada. A calming, paternalistic figure in a period of apocalyptic uncertainty who galvanizes the economy with short-sighted right wing fiscal policies. And like Reagan, every disaster that Canada encounters in the future will be traceable to his administration.

Liberals literally only care about aesthetics while doing exactly what trump would do. As long as they seem “smart and articulate” while doing the worst austerity we’ve seen in decades, their supporters will lap it up.
The thing about him is not only is he smart, articulate and has an air of refinement to him but he's also very charming and still very down to earth. He's someone you know you can grab a beer with at the local pub.
On the world stage, he is commanding and is able to hold an audience with his words without needing to dumb it down for the normal people. And he's not regurgitating phrases and words that PP is so used to doing. Carney is exactly the kind of leader we need right now, compared to the Buffoon down south.
