It's calling me in good way, I should clarify! I always adored sitting by the ocean and essentially spending time with the ocean itself. Whether I was with my family/friends or not the ocean sort of felt like another person was there too. That's how powerful the ocean always felt to me!

I need to see the ocean again. It's been like a decade since I've been to the ocean and it's calling me.

oh dang, I totally forgot that I bought Idols of Ash. I don't normally play horror games, but for some reason this one looked really interesting so I couldn't resist.

and there's over 40,000 people playing the game right now?? what the hell man?! That seems crazy to me!

I was thinking about playing Left 4 Dead 2 again so I was looking at the store page and.. that game came out 17 YEARS ago!! How has it been that long ?!?

Also, if you're not sure what is healthy: the science shows that plant based whole foods are very healthy. If you doubt that, just think of your own experience. Do you often hear people say: "My friend died from eating too many steamed vegetables"? I doubt it. It's not as complicated as it seems.

Also, this bizzare american obsession with eating more protein is ruining people's health. You don't need more protein. It's almost impossible to have a protein deficiency, even for vegans. Take rice for example. Most people think it's just pure carbs, but even rice contains protein.

Daniel F. Walthall @axebane.bsky.social · 01/08/2026

If you find it difficult to eat healthy, do not blame yourself. It's not your fault. Fast food, junk food, and most processed foods are DESIGNED to be addictive. They are also designed to make you feel even more hungry so that you will keep coming back. It's not your fault, the game is rigged.

Trust me, I know it's really difficult to build the habit, but eating healthy does not have to be expensive or time consuming. My breakfast today cost me about 75 cents and took 6 minutes. I had old fashioned oatmeal, with 1/2 an apple, some butter, and about 1 teaspoon of honey It was delicious!!

Get ready with me comic

4 panel comic titled “get ready with me”
Panel 1 - a guy is bringing a bowl of food to his cat - the caption says “this is my cute little morning routine”
Panel 2 - he watches as his cat eats the food, behind them is an ominous black portal bordered with skulls and with tentacles coming out of it
Panel 3 - he sits in a recliner with a cup of coffee and his cat at his feet. He says “ahh so nice” - the portal is still lurking behind them
Panel 4 - he’s now reading a book. The cat is sleeping in his lap. The portal still looms. He says “the trick is to ignore the void of infinite horrors “

I was about to buy the newest expansion for Easy Red 2, but then I noticed it was created using genAI. So instead of buying it, I've uninstalled the game and deleted both of my videos on youtube that featured Easy Red 2. There are plenty of other games I can play that aren't slop. Good riddance.

Yesterday saw a sneak peek at the Bangpae, now you can see it in game! A most excellent medium mech. Decent firepower, maneuverability, and versatility. A little weak in the armour though. #indiegamedev #mecha #gamedev

Can you imagine that all the dreams of the people of Gaza are for a home? Do you know that the majority of them live in tents made of plastic sheeting that is no more than 1 mm thick, unbearably hot in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter? The people of Gaza have the right to live in dignity.

like, It's crazy, I've only been doing this for about 4 days so far and I can already feel the change in my mind! I'm more calm and less anxious throughout the day. I'm hoping if I keep doing this for a month or two it will become a true habit and won't take effort to maintain.

Daniel F. Walthall @axebane.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

I've started to develop a new habit, and It's one I've been wanting to develop for a while. The habit is: while I drink my morning tea, instead of going on the internet I read a book. They say whatever you do first thing in the morning can set the tone for the entire day, and I feel that for sure!

wow, so far Obenseuer does seem very unique and extremely compelling! I'm gonna see if it runs smooth enough for me to record, and then I might jump in and do a playthrough without researching the game so I can be surprised by whatever the game is gonna throw at me.

Daniel F. Walthall @axebane.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I just bought another steam game. What is wrong with me? I have no willpower. This time I picked up Obenseuer because it looks like a really unique experience. If it's good, I'll probably start yet another gameplay video series!

I've been trying to work harder so I can earn more money, but I don't want money. I honestly don't want it. But we are forced to pursue it just to survive in this modern world. The earth can provide everything we need in abundance, but we had to invent stupid concepts like money and property.

Today ended up being a busy day, and a sad day. I didn't work on any of my projects, but I did: -cook breakfast -take a 4 mile walk -cook dinner -bake cookies -bury my step-dad's hunting dog, Rusty 💔 (he was a very old dog so we figured he was gonna pass away soon and today he did)

youtube is weird because if a video has zero views then youtube wont recommend it to anyone. so how does any video get any views? Is there like just some guy named Jim who manually searches for videos that have zero views and watches it to get the process started?? If so, thanks Jim, we owe ya

I cooked some ramen, and it made me think about a friend of a friend from high school: whenever she made ramen, she would make two packages because one was not enough, and she always drained all the water but still used both seasoning packets for maximum undiluted flavor

UPDATE: I have good news: It turns out they are not yellow jackets. They are paper wasps, which explains why the stings didn't hurt much. Also, paper wasps are not very aggressive, and I've got a plan to get rid of them safely. Plus we might be able to keep the lower porch if we make some repairs.

I might not post anything for a while. It feels like everything is falling apart. My step-dad fell yesterday, we have to get our lower deck torn up within a week, and I got attacked by the bees again this morning. The good news is that I figured out where the yellow jackets are. I love you all.
