And this tragedy is one of many outcomes of the slow and steady gutting of our public education system. Our medical system is deeply flawed, yes, but anti-vaxx isn't driven by healthy skepticism of power but the accelerating decline of critical thinking and, honestly, reading comprehension.

This is the only Harry Potter argument worth making It wouldn't matter if Harry Potter was a singular, unmatched work of genius. Giving Rowling money is actively making the world a worse place and killing trans folks. There's no book good enough or nostalgic enough for that to be worth it.
