Three panel comic. Panel 1: a high school basketball game. The home team is down 9 points, and some players are looking discouraged on the bench. The coach points to a player just out of frame and says, “flippers, you’re in!” Panel 2: the away team attempts a deep 2-point shot, possibly to beat the buzzer, which is blocked by Flippers, a whale who doesn’t even have his arms up. Panel 3: the game ends and the home team excitedly crowd around Flippers, who won them the game. A player from the away team looks stunned, with his hands on his head.

I'll never understand how "a lot of mostly/potentially/probably incorrect metadata is better for digital discovery than accurate but sparse metadata" became a popular idea than "we will put things online more slowly, but we will do it with accuracy"

Okay Bsky. A request from a new friend I met at the conference today! I asked about his rad shirt and he said it belongs to his coworker's dad who always used to wear it to this conference and so he borrowed it. But he wants to see if he can find one for himself so he can match his friend's dad lol
A photo of the back of someone's shirt. It has a colorful pattern featuring various birds such as owls, crowned cranes, hoopoes, looks like there's a zebra finch in there, some parrots, a chicken maybe? And vultures? I think I see a stork and maybe even a pigeon. Lots of birds

Last semester one of my projects was to make a LibGuide on my choice of library subject. I chose to make one on finding cats in the library and today, I channeled that SO HARD for an adult patron who asked for a list of fiction with cats. Manifestation, folks.

In class today we took a look at AI vs real images and the biggest takeaway I have for this experience is to take more than 3 seconds to look at something. If you just glance, you might be fooled more often than you would if you slow down and look at it.
