We need more entry level political roles so that people can level up their skills before getting into the bigger jobs, but consolidation with that in mind would be good

astonishing to see them file suit over this. it exempts 100s of thousands of Portlanders from the tax, while raising it a bit ($15 for the year) on those with the most ability to pay. it would be a shame if council had a hearing on the Clean and Safe ESD rates and how those have been hiked > 10%

8600+ Oregonians took the Governor's survey on what they want to see in a future transportation package. What a surprise! People want to fix the damn roads, expand transit service and build safer streets. Oregonians are not clamoring for ODOT to spend billions on freeway expansions. #orleg #orpol

Someone welded some square pipes together into a u-shape and powder coated it. My brother got that for me as a gift. Then we poured a little concrete block on each leg to attach it to the ground. I had big dreams making it fancy but honestly just getting it down securely is all that mattered

Cities should be paying people to bike. Cities should be buying people e-bikes. Cities should be rewarding people for convincing neighbors to ride bikes. Every trip by bike is a net financial gain socially. And it compounds, the more people who do it.

Oregon's roads are in *terrible* shape - among the worst in the country! - and yet Governor Kotek, the Oregon Legislature and ODOT are still thinking about spending *billions* on a single hwy project to double the width of I-5 instead of maintaining our state's existing roads and bridges. enough!

The Beaver State has the second highest gap-to-expenditure ratio in the country, behind New York and tied with Connecticut.

eliminating I-5 for a week seems to have caused remarkably minimal disruption to Portland's regional traffic flows. so why again do ODOT, Governor Kotek and the Oregon Legislature think we should spend three billion dollars (!) to literally double the width of lanes on I-5 through North Portland?

Building up would be cool, though the demand is already there for the bikeway at least. The major sacrifice here would be the car parking, it's one travel lane the whole length minus (with some turn lanes). Limited bike counts and my anecdata indicate it's high use.
