Okay so I am going to pop in here extremely rarely, like once a week or so, to check up on friends. Just letting myself scroll algorithmic media does things to my brain that I don't like, and the temptation to check out the algo feeds I have is too high. But I want to see friends' updates.

I just finished Orphan Black and I don't understand how I haven't heard more people talk about this show. Amazing performances, casually and comfortably queer, it wasn't perfect but it was one of the most interesting shows I've seen in a long time.

No, what happened was the religious right in the US, after losing on Obergefell v. Hodges, immediately changed tactics. They held huge conferences outlining their plans to roll back LGBT rights as whole by targeting trans people. They didn't skip a beat. We aren't to blame for our own oppression.

Expect more and expect better of your idols and heroes. Be understanding and forgiving and supportive of them as human, but don't overlook the wrong things they do or the things they do wrong. it’s important to point out that AGAB was coined to actually describe how doctors discriminate against trans people. it was not coined to mean “a doctor writes down objective information”, it was meant to mean “something is violently forced upon you”.
