The 'high-level' climate policy making I was earlier involved with included carbon dioxide removal, international offsetting and using the Finnish industrial forests to 'sequester' our fossil fuel emissions from cars. No CDR exists, offsetting markets collapsed and the forests were overharvested.

The re-closure of the Black Sea Grain route has major implications for global food security. Many African countries are exposed. That will come on top of the likely impacts of the coming major El Nino in the Horn/Sahel and parts of southern Africa, on top of the fertiliser issue from Hormuz.
