This 33-year-old nurse told the FBI she knew she was “going to set him free” after border patrol agents brought in a man whose face was bloodied and seriously injured. She treated him and helped him escape, and she faces charges now. He got away, and they never relocated him.

Someone quote posted this saying "who's this 'we'" and asserting that this isn't a problem for people who avoid chatbots. Any organizer would understand why I might use the word "we" instead of distancing myself from people who get sucked in by bots bc they're struggling under capitalism or lonely.

How the hell is “wear a helmet” bad advice? This is the same argument as the people who said it was bad for him to suggest turning up thermostats to save energy. “Wear a helmet if you’re on a bike” is just good public health advice. Even if you just fall off of your bike, a helmet could save you.

This is good and true.
The left does not need to pursue its own exoneration in this moment. There is no reason to indulge the fantasy that we governed the nation during these recent, disastrous years, or that our country's brief flirtation with racial justice was an unthinkable disaster with countless innocent victims. Are we, the left, messy as hell? Absolutely. Do I get sick of our shit sometimes? You bet.
