Get a white male comedian (Kevin James; Sean William Scott) to play a genuinely scary neo-Nazi who faces off against our antihero, a psychotic teenage girl (played by Lulu Wilson) in an over-the-top, violent, action-thriller and you have the Becky film series, which I enjoy so very much. 1/2

Did a quick online search before the quake was officially confirmed and came across Quake Trace. Love this pop-up that appeared, which later changed to a quake confirmation :)
Screenshot from a page from the Quake Trace website with the heading "Melbourne Earthquakes" that reads: "Possible seismic activity in or near Melbourne. 1,144 people arrived on this page in the last 10 minutes. Surges like this usually mean shaking was just felt nearby, before any official report exists."Screenshot from a page from the Quake Trace website with the heading "Melbourne Earthquakes" that reads: "Early detection confirmed. 1,826 people sensed this quake 14 minutes before the official report." The page also shows information about a magnitude 4.7 earthquake near Korumburra, Australia.

This is a clip from Publisher's Weekly, for "book deals the week of Aug. 24, 2026." It reads: "Stephanie Stein at Tordotcom picked up world English and German rights to Annalee Newitz’s Noodle Union from Laurie Fox at Linda Chester Literary Agency. The book is a sequel to the 2025 cozy science fiction novella Automatic Noodle, set in the near future, “about a labor movement gaining steam in the pneumatic delivery tubes surrounding a robot-run noodle restaurant,” per the publisher. A fall 2027 publication is scheduled."

Text overlaid across the girl at the receiving end of the tuba reads, “Me trying to do a basic task I’ve managed to do every day without incident for many years”. Good stuff.
It is possible, of course, to object to any kind of lawlessness and violence, to say that every bomb and bullet carries an unbearable moral hazard, no matter the conditions of the world. But almost nobody is so totalizing in their pacifism. What is particularly obnoxious about the moral case against the Weather Underground is the implication that their limited recourse to violence constituted some unique and inconceivable evil, that Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers crossed lines unimaginable to Henry Kissinger.Rationalization of the New Left is often taken to be “unserious,” but it is unserious to object to it on purely moral grounds with one hand while waving away the unfathomable scale of American violence with the other. One may of course oppose oneself to bloodshed in all cases. But it is not serious to swim in a sea of blood and faint at the addition of another drop
