Yup. Either politicians do not believe they can successfully convince their constituents to trust their increased tax burden will be more than offset by decreases in other costs like, say private health insurance premiums, or they simply do not want to make that argument. But they should.

Really feels like a lot of people my age that were so ambitious in their careers and doing incredible things have decided that it's not worth it anymore and are deciding to prioritize their personal lives instead and trying to retire early. It's anecdotal but I'm seeing this across the board.
