Jeffrey Lewis’ ‘Spin it or Bin it’ ongoing series trawling through his (and sometimes others’) vinyl is a daily joy, feels like it’s becoming one of THE classic bits of music curation a la Nurse With Wound list/Kurt’s favourite 50 albums but for psych/acid folk freaks. Look it up on fb/insta/YT.

I really hope the publication of biographies of Anita Brookner and Barbara Cartland at more of less the same time creates a literary Barbenheimer effect.

Good morning - I hope you slept like a midge-stuffed pipistrelle - I'm starting with J. A. Grimshaw's ‘In the Golden Olden Times’, oil on canvas, 1870. This also graces the September page of the JOHN ATKINSON GRIMSHAW CALENDAR for 2027. www.rathergoodart.co.uk/product/john... #johnatkinsongrimshaw
‘In the Golden Olden Times’, oil on canvas, 1870. A view down a leaf strew road lined with nearly bare trees, their leaves lying below. On the right is a large decorative building, on the left the figure of an adult and child - all is suffused by a warm amber light.
