Does anyone know if it's possible to track down who is paying for a specific billboard? This billboard on Murphy Street outside Thorndon New World exactly matches National Party content but has no authorisation statement and no owner other than "concerned citizens". I would like to do Research.
A billboard.

Top says "Wake Up New Zealand".

Left has a picture of Chris Hipkins and says "9 New Taxes".

Right has a picture Christoper Luxon and says "No New Taxes".

Bottom says "Sponsored By Concerned Citizens".

#nzpol What's in it for workers this election? Over the coming week, we'll be releasing a set of 13 policy scorecards for working people, so that you know where parties stand this election year. See how the parties stack up on Fair Pay Agreements, contractor law, and personal grievances:
NZCTU Policy Scorecards for Working People. Question: “Will you support higher wages by restoring Fair Pay Agreements in the first 100 days?” Results: Labour - Yes; National - No; ACT - No; Green - Yes; Te Pāti Māori - Yes; New Zealand First - No; Alliance - Yes; Opportunities Party - No. Green tick indicates Yes, red cross indicates No. Footer notes that National and ACT declined to answer questions on industrial policy, so scores reflect public statements and legislative history. Authorised by New Zealand Council of Trade Unions - Te Kauae Kaimahi. More information: union.org.nz/election-scorecards-26.NZCTU policy scorecard titled “Policy Scorecards for Working People.” Question: “Will you protect workers by ending the mislabelling of employees as contractors?*” with a note: “*by reversing the Employment Relations Amendment Act 2026 changes.” Results: Labour: Yes; National: No; ACT: No; Green: Yes; New Zealand First: No; Alliance: Yes; Opportunity Party (TOP): No policy. Green tick indicates Yes, red cross indicates No. Footer notes that National and ACT declined to answer questions on industrial policy, so scores reflect public statements and legislative history. Above and below a photo of the team text reads PROUD
LIVING WAGE EMPLOYER

Golden FleeceWhat inspired your organisation to become a LWE?
We wanted an independent way to show we value our staff, and a proven external bench mark of a living wage to base our pay rates off. Queenstown has a high cost of living so it is important to pay statt at a level that they can sustain a life here.

What was the accreditation journey like for your team?
his go pretty straight forward, and we
support trom the LWE team. For
us, this just ended up being an email to existing staff and a couple of lines added to our offer letter. It was really easy and quickWhat benefits have you seen since ecoming a LWE for your staff! For your
business!
Strategic Accountability: Becoming
a Living Wage Employer LWE) provides a structured framework that ensures we
regularly review and adjust our pay rates. As a small business, it is easy to unintentionally overlook these adjustments, so this
framework keeps us actively accountable.

Recruitment Edge: Arrowtown and the wider Queenstown region face intense seasonal competition for talent. This
accreditation gives us a distinct competitive advantage in the job market, clearly signaling to top candidates that we offer fair compensation and genuinely value our team.

Financial Stability: Our core team has remained stable. Maintaining high staff retention has reduced our recruitment costs and protected our bottom line by preventing the lost sales that come with being
understaffed.For workers?
Financial Security: Our team has peace of mind knowing their wages will
automatically adjust to mirror the true cost of living, keeping them ahead of inflation.

Enhanced Morale: Employees are happy
engaged because they are
respected, properly compensated, and valued for their daily contributions to our business success.

What would you say to other
organisations considering becoming accredited??
Do it. It is an easy way to get external validation for your pay rates, and to show prospective staff members you value them compared to companies that aren't accredited.
