the average lifespan of outdoor cats is 3 to 5 years. indoor cats regularly live to 10, if not 20 years. imagine personally shaving off 3/4 of your cat's life because you're too stubborn and lazy to take proper care of an animal you're responsible for

Bumble shark plushies! She's so fuzzy 😭🐝
A photo of Humlehaj, the bumble shark, being held by two arms up in the air against a background of sunflowers and a traditional red Swedish house. Humlehaj is a hybrid between bumblebee and shark, and has therefore a fuzzy body and brown and yellow stripes, as well as small bumblebee wings. She looks like she is ready to buzz away and towards the sunflowers! If only those hands would let her go... Free her!!!A photo of Humlehaj, the bumble shark, being hugged sweetly against a person wearing a striped t-shirt. There are some sunflowers in the background. Humlehaj has two hands cosily hugging her against the person's chest. She is such a cosy cuddle buddy!Humlehaj has been caught again in this photo, and is being held against someone wearing a dark brown coat while she is pointed outwards, her fins sticking out a little.. Humlehaj does not seem to mind much, though, as she is smiling and as round as ever. One could even say she loves a good play session!

So MBIE officials recommended spending less, but targeting the money towards local music festivals. And Louise Upston chose to spend much more, but hand it all to multinational companies and overseas artists.
They reveal MBIE’s reasoning as to why it advised the government against investing in concerts, including a lack of “wider benefit opportunities” and “no international brand visibility”, though it said many countries, including Australia and Malaysia, offer concert funds. Instead, MBIE suggested funding local music festivals with a smaller, discrete, one-off fund. This is advice which Upston also seems to have ignored; late last year, the long-running music festival Splore called it quits, saying its $240,000 funding request had been denied.

Prime Minister addressing a State of Auckland event on Friday, as reported by Jonathan Killick for The Post (1/4)

“The challenge for all of us in this room is to come together, get it gripped up, sorted and joined up with one plan and then execute and execute.”

“It’s a mindset thing,” he told them.(2/4) Luxon repeatedly returned to what he called five “strategic thrusts” – world-class education, science and technology, modern infrastructure, less red tape, and more trade and investment.

“Let’s take those thrusts and execute like hell against them, and get it done. That would be my advice,” he told the city’s business leaders.(3/4) Luxon said New Zealand had a “really big problem” reaching long-term agreement on infrastructure, pointing to the Cambridge to Piarere expressway as an example.

“It’s on, off, on, off … It’s not sending men or women to the moon or doing Middle East peace or anything. It’s like, building a road.”(4/4) “And remember we’re really bad at asset management, you know, the worst of the world … Don’t freak out or take that as criticism. It’s just, you’ve got to know where you’re starting from so you can actually try and professionalise the joint.”

So his magic wand would be to make everyone agree with him about how things should be done, and somehow that equals freedom? #nzpol
If he had a magic wand, what one thing would he change?
"Remove the will to fight".

"… If you could somehow get people to see that the other side is in the same dilemma, then you would massively reduce the compulsion people feel to support government to become bigger and tax more and harm itself and fight other governments."

Seymour reckons this would unlock more "human freedom" and an "enormous" amount of creativity.
